The Magic Bracelet is a movie that 15 year old Rina Goldberg, a girl with mitochondrial disease, wrote. Unfortunately she passed away on December 29 2010 before she could see the movie completed. She envisioned The Magic Bracelet to tell a creative, witty and sharp story about many facets of life, including friendship, love, adventure and magic, just to name a few.
Chandra Wilson ( from Greys Anatomy) and her daughter Sarina attended the event. Sarina has Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome as a result of mitochondrial dysfunction. Chandra is the Cure Mito Ambassador, who introduced the new PSA for UMDF made on the film set, and Bailee Madison. Bailee plays Ashley in the film, her character has Mito.

I just sent a message to Jane Velez_
-Mitchell about her offensive terms for mental illness and received a confirmation email from CNN. Maybe, just maybe they will change their terms but these are the terms that make mental illness patients scared to ask for help because they will be labeled and/or subjected to awful stigma of the ignorant.
