Doctor
I went to see my Rheumatologist for a check-up this morning. We went over how my condition has declined, but we didn’t do another corticosteroid injection as it can cause bone erosion if done too frequently. This was fine with me, considering just thinking about getting another one of those shots was making me teary-eyed and distressed.
The entire visit was like that, actually. I’m so fed up and frustrated with my knee. It’s been so long since I’ve had to go to the doctor or even take medication for it… why now? Why did it have to come out of remission and swell up and make my knee look all vein-y and even more disgusting?I just want to cry sometimes, and I feel pathetic for having that feeling.
By the end of the visit, I had two more prescriptions, filled 6 vials of blood, and was buffeted by a freaky-ass windstorm on the way out.
And my knee still hurt.

Children attending Crumlin Children’s hospital (Dublin,Ireland) with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis will only be able to visit their doctor on Mondays and Fridays, because the consultant paediatric rheumatoligist is going on maternity leave.
A locum post was advertised internationally, but not one person applied for the job.

This is really awful :/ It’s nearly impossible to get jobs at the moment, even in the medical field, and still nobody applied for this…?? ):
